Maker Space Series – January


All programs run from 3-4pm on Tuesdays, and are for children ages 8-11.

 

January 2 – Coding for kids: Scratch Jr./ Hopscotch.  

Kids will learn how to make their own interactive stories and animations using code from Scratch Jr. and Hopscotch computer programs. (pre-registration required)

 

January 9th, Lego Challenge: Winter City.  

Strengthen your STEM  muscles and spark your imagination with an abundance of Lego bricks. (pre-registration required)

 

January 16th, 3D Coloring Using Quiver App

The Quiver App combines physical coloring from “back in the day” with state of the art augmented-reality technology. Coloring pages have never been so much fun! Coloring books will always be popular because they allow children to apply their own artistic vision to templates of their favorite characters, items, and places. Now with Quiver, children can bring their unique coloring creations to life in extraordinary 3D-augmented reality. January 23rd, Lego Challenge: Snowman

January 30th, littleBits Creations.  

This littleBits creations program is designed for youth to both learn about and explore STEAM concepts and 21st century skills. littleBits are kits that are composed of electronic building blocks that are color-coded, magnetic, and make complex technology simple and fun. Together they’re interchangeable in millions of different ways to empower youth to invent anything. (pre-registration required)
