Friends of the Waterbury Public Library
The Friends of the Waterbury Public Library are marking 52 years of supporting improved library facilities and services for the Waterbury community. The Friends was established in 1966 by a small group of dedicated volunteers motivated by a desire to make a difference in their library.
What We Do
The library budget does not cover everything and the contributions to our Annual Appeal allow the Friends to provide our library with additional and enhanced programs, activities, and services.
Over the past several years the Friends have helped fund:
- RB Digital and Audio
- eBooks from Overdrive/Libby
- Reduced Rate and Free Passes to Shelburne Museum and Montshire Museum
- Hosting Afternoon Teas
- Mango Languages Online Program
- The Books for Babies Program
- Rock the World and The Crankie Picture Show Children’s Programs
The Friends is still run by a small group of volunteers who can always use more help. If you would like to participate or volunteer to help with a project please feel free to contact Linda at (802)-244-0885. We generally hold a monthly meeting on the first Monday of the month.
Contributions are always welcome and will enable us to continue our support of the Waterbury Public Library. Contributions can be mailed to the FOWPL at P.O. Box 384, Waterbury, VT. 05676 or dropped off at the Library.
